Kayla Miller

 

I’m Kayla and I’m a junior her at UHS. I love art in a shapes though I prefer drawing, specifically realistic people. Manga and Manhua are both really important to me and I take a lot of inspiration from the beauty of its characters and reflect that into my art. My favorite ceramic technique would have to be slab form, just because I like how smooth the surface of the clay is.
Manga and anime, as well as pop culture influence my art a lot. I like to try my best to recreate the beauty these things may have, whether it is a character in a manga or a famous musician. I like the process of trying to recreate the beauty and unique forms that the human face obtains. I’m fully inspired by pretty people, nothing else.

Ugly Mug.
Mug as in, face. This piece depicts an image of a face on the side of a mug or cup. It was created with the slab form ceramic method, then building up on the side the create a particularly unique and individually beautiful face.
